Trauma & Relationship Counseling in Windermere and Orlando, Florida, and in Chicago, Illinois
Healing From Trauma. Rebuilding Relationships. Rediscovering Yourself.
You may look strong and capable on the outside while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, hurt, or emotionally exhausted on the inside. Perhaps you are struggling in a difficult relationship, recovering from betrayal or divorce, questioning yourself after narcissistic or emotional abuse, or carrying wounds from experiences that happened years ago.
You don’t have to stay stuck in patterns that keep you from the life and relationships you want.
A Path Toward Healing
For more than 15 years, I have helped individuals navigate trauma and PTSD, narcissistic and emotional abuse, relationship difficulties, anxiety, betrayal, divorce, and painful life transitions.
Therapy with me is compassionate, individualized, and focused on meaningful change. Together, we can work to understand the experiences and patterns that have shaped you, strengthen your sense of self, establish healthier boundaries, and help you move forward with greater confidence and peace.
My goal is not simply to help you cope with what hurts today. It is to help you heal, grow, and create lasting change.
Trauma-Informed, Individualized Therapy
No two people arrive at therapy with the same story. I tailor treatment to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
My training includes EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Gottman Levels 1 & 2, trauma-focused treatment, mindfulness, and the neuroscience of attachment.
These approaches allow us to address not only symptoms, but also the experiences, relationships, beliefs, and patterns that may be contributing to them.
Christian Counseling — When You Desire It
Faith can be an extraordinary source of strength, meaning, and hope during difficult seasons of life.
For clients who desire it, I thoughtfully incorporate Christian faith into the therapeutic process. Your faith can become part of our work together while still utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Christian counseling is always an option, never a requirement. Clients of all backgrounds are welcome and respected.
A Therapist Who Understands the Healing Journey
My understanding of trauma comes not only from my education and clinical training, but also from personal experience.
My own trials and trauma—and the healing I experienced through therapy—have given me a deep sense of empathy and understanding for others on their journey toward healing and fulfillment.
I know firsthand that meaningful change is possible.
That experience, combined with more than 15 years as a mental health professional, has shaped the way I approach therapy: with compassion, honesty, respect, and genuine hope for the person sitting across from me.

Healing is possible. If you feel we may be a good fit, I invite you to reach out and take the first step.
I have extensive training and /or certification in all the modalities I have presented.

Kelli A. Hauer
My clinical interests center on mindfulness and the neuroscience of attachment. I cultivated this interest by additional post-graduate work in forensic neuroscience, which allowed me to immerse myself in understanding the distinct connections within our brain as we connect with others and/or our own human behaviors.
My own personal trials and trauma, which were overcome through therapy, have helped me gain unconditional empathy and knowledge to help others through their journey of healing and self fulfillment. I have a Christian worldview and often incorporate the Christian approach to help reach one’s full potential.
